How to Place an Order
 How do I place an order?

If you are a current customer of Ruud Lighting and have received a login name and password, we invite you to place an order by visiting the Buy Direct area of our website. For help in becoming pre-qualified, visit the Customer Service area.

Step 1: LOG IN

Enter the requested information and click on Lookup

If you do not have a login name and password, but meet our pre-qualification requirements, call us at 800-236-7000, or submit a Login Request Form.

Step 2: SEARCH FOR A PRODUCT

After logging in, there are two ways to find what you're looking for

After logging in, there are two ways to find what you're looking for, searching by Product Family or searching by Catalog Number. Select a filter option to narrow your search results.

Use the drop-down feature in the Search by Product section to choose a specific product family. Click GO. Narrow your search by making additional selections such as 'mounting'. Once you have specified as much information as you know, click on Go.

To use the Search by Catalog Number area, simply enter as much of the catalog number as you know and click Go.

Step 3: PREVIEW PRODUCT INFORMATION

A screen will be returned to you with a list of all catalog numbers that fit the specifications you have entered on the previous screen(s). If you want to change the specifications, click Modify Search. Click on New Search to begin another search. Our Customer Service or Application Department will be happy to assist you in making the correct selection for your specific need. Contact them at 800-236-7000. Once you have decided on a selection from this screen, click on the ADD Catalog Number link in the results table.

Step 4: ADD TO CART

The item is then displayed with a picture, a description, Catalog Number, Quantity, Unit Price, a Mark As field, and a button to add the item to your shopping cart. Adjust the Quantity as necessary. If you would like to mark this item for your own reference (i.e. your job reference, etc.) enter a value in the Mark As field. Click on the ADD button to officially add the item to your shopping cart.

Note: If there are any accessories or related products for the selected products, links for the products will be shown.

Step 5: SHOPPING CART

When you click the Add to cart button, a shopping cart summary screen is presented to you. You change your order by removing items from the shopping cart, updating changes to your cart, clearing the entire shopping cart, changing item quantities, and changing the Mark As field. You may also request catalogs to be sent with your order. If you are finished adding items to your shopping shopping cart and are ready to check out, click the Check Out button.

Step 6: CHECKING OUT

Clicking the Check Out Button brings you to the Shipping screen. There are two ways to enter the shipping address. First, if you saved shipping address while placing orders in the past, you may press Select button next to the address you want to use for the current order. The second method is to enter the ship-to address manually. If you want to save this shipping address for future orders, simply enter a name in the Save As field and this address will appear as a saved address during your next order.

Click the Next button and you will go to the Tax/Freight/Custoer Service Note screen. There simply enter the city, and/ or, county your order will ship to. This determines the Sales Tax on your purchase. Next select the shipping method you want for the order. Finally, enter any notes you want to convey to the Ruud Lighting Customer Service department concerning the order. Click Next to go to the final screen.

Step 7: FINAL APPROVAL

Once the shipping information has been entered, you will be asked to enter your payment information. Select the payment method you would like to use (credit card, check, or Invoice). Credit card transactions can be made two ways. First if you saved your credit card information on a past orders, the information will appear. Press the Checkout button next to the saved credit card you want to use for this order. The second method is to enter the credit card method manually. If you want to save this credit card information for future orders enter a value in the Name field and press the Checkout button. This saved credit card name will appear on future orders. To finalize the purchase for the other payment types, press the Checkout button on the bottom of the page.
